About Us
Why do cars cost less per ft2 than site-built kitchens? Why can’t we manufacture (and buy) housing components like we do automobiles? We believe the way we build is 100 years old, and the answers to these questions are the key to solving America’s affordable housing problems.
At Logic, we are organizing the interfaces between all the next-generation products needed for 21st C. construction. Like mounting a dashboard and seats to a car chassis, our interfaces simplify how we assemble industrialized construction components into buildings. This means we can order things like kitchen and bathroom pods at wholesale prices, and help builders install them in a flash.
We’ve learned from how USBs organized the computer peripherals marketplace… by simplifying (host) laptops, we saw an explosion of new peripherals like memory sticks and smartphones. This exciting. Logic’s platform captures the same plug-and-play interoperability… making the design and assembly of homes as simple as buying a car.
This is just the start. We’re inspired by the positive impact systems thinking can reduce construction toil, and how simplicity can make a better economic engine.
Jason Van Nest
Jason is an architect, educator, and entrepreneur with over 25 years of experience designing housing in architecture firms based in New York, New Haven, Atlanta, and Key West. He’s spent more than half a decade advising modular firms serving the hospitality space. That experience at the intersection of manufacturing and building was the basis of a feasibility study informing the charter the Center for Offsite Construction at New York Tech‘s School of Architecture. At NY Tech, he holds tenure as an Associate Professor of Architecture and is President of the Academic Senate.
“I’m excited to build Logic because the need to bring efficiency to US homebuilding has never been more urgent. Real estate developers, builders, and designers don’t want to be hampered by our 100-year-old way of building housing. We can build faster, cleaner, and at lower cost – making everyone a community hero.”
David J Koster
David J. Koster is a seasoned real estate developer and the President of Good Developments Group, bringing over a decade of expertise in managing high-profile projects across the United States. His passion for rethinking traditional construction methods aligns with Logic Building Systems’ vision of revolutionizing modular design. David’s commitment to sustainable, forward-thinking development makes him an invaluable part of the Logic team.
“Joining Logic is an opportunity to solve the technical and logistical challenges that have long hindered real estate development. By streamlining modular solutions, we can deliver projects faster and more efficiently, empowering developers to create vibrant, sustainable communities that redefine what’s possible in housing.”
Main Street Lab
The Logic Laboratory on Main Street in Brattleboro, VT is a messy place. It plays two roles. First, its a prototyping space to test products and pathways in real time. More importantly, it is a venue to do this work in full view of the community, and have conversations about housing.
“Opening our main street laboratory was the smartest thing we ever did, because every week a new collaborator sees the vision and walks through the door to find out how they can participate.” ~ Jason Van Nest

Investing Logically
Today more then ever, the construction industry is clear on what it needs to speed innovation. Investors, developers, and builders are looking to de-risk the process of adopting industrialized construction processes. Logic’s unique partnership with the Center for Offsite Construction positions it to satisfy that need.
